Starting a challenge
Choose Prop firm challenge in the new session form. Pick a shape, change anything, start.
Presets
Each preset sets its numbers as a share of your starting balance, so it fits any account size. Two-phase, phase 1 (10% target, 5% daily and 10% total loss, 4 days, 30 days), phase 2 (5% target), One-step (10% target, 3% daily, 6% trailing end-of-day loss), Futures-style trailing (6% target, 4% trailing loss that locks at the start balance) and Drawdown only.
These are common shapes, deliberately not named after real firms. Rules change, and an out-of-date preset would be worse than none. Copy the numbers from your firm's own page before an attempt that matters.
The rules
| Rule | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Profit target | Profit above the starting balance that passes the challenge, as a percentage of the account. Blank means no target. |
| Maximum loss and floor | How far you can fall (a percentage of the account), and how the floor moves: static, trailing intraday, trailing end of day or trailing, locks at start. |
| Daily loss limit | Loss allowed within one trading day (a percentage of the account), measured from the day's opening balance, opening equity, or the higher of the two. |
| Day resets at | The UTC time a trading day rolls over. Many firms use broker server time, often 22:00 UTC. |
| Minimum trading days | Separate days you must trade before the target counts. |
| Time limit | Calendar days from the first bar. |
| Best day at most | The consistency rule: no one day above this share of your profit. |
| Largest position | Lots. |
| No weekend holding | No position open across Saturday midnight (UTC). |
| News blackout | No trade opened or closed within this many minutes of a high-impact event. Needs a calendar imported with the data. |
| Your profit split | The share you keep, used for the payout estimate. |
| No rewinding | Time only moves forward. Stepping back, jumping to an earlier date and Home are disabled. |
Editing any field by hand switches the preset off (Reset to the preset brings it back). The profit target, maximum loss and daily loss limit are typed as percentages of the starting balance, and the dollar amount they come to is shown beside each, so “10” is never ambiguous. Change the balance and the dollars follow; the percentages stay.
