How the numbers are worked out
The definitions, so you can check any figure by hand.
| Figure | Definition |
|---|---|
| Net P&L | Profit after spread and commission. |
| Win rate | Winning trades ÷ all closed trades, breakeven included. |
| Expectancy | Average net result per trade. The R version is the mean R over trades that had a stop-loss. |
| Profit factor | Gross profit ÷ gross loss. With profit and no loss it says so instead of printing infinity. |
| Payoff ratio | Average win ÷ average loss. |
| R | Net result ÷ the risk to the stop-loss at entry, costs included. No stop-loss, no R. |
| Planned R | Distance to the take-profit ÷ distance to the stop, from the bracket live at close. |
| Max against / for | Maximum adverse and favourable excursion in R, from the replay's price path. |
| Balance and drawdown | Closed-trade balance. One curve feeds the profit chart, the balance figure and the drawdown, so they cannot disagree. A drawdown runs from a peak until the peak is regained. |
| Combined balance | With several sessions in view, the sum of their starting balances. |
| Trade frequency | Trades ÷ the days, weeks and months in which you traded, so a quiet month does not drag it down. |
Sample sizes are shown beside grouped figures (n=4) and thin groups are drawn paler. The app does not compute Sharpe, Sortino or Kelly: on the small samples a replay produces they are noise dressed as precision.
