Drawdown
The cost of the ride.
- Drawdown on equity, in dollars or percent: how far the balance sat below its previous high. It is measured on the closed-trade balance, which moves when a trade closes, not while one floats. The curve steps rather than slopes for that reason.
- Max, average, time to recover, and now: depth of the deepest drawdown, the mean depth, the average time from the lowest point back to a new high, and whether you are in one.
- Deepest drawdowns: the five worst, with when they started, how long they lasted and whether they recovered.
- Maximum adverse excursion: how far each trade went against you, in R, for all trades, winners or losers. It is exact because the trade happened inside the replay.
- Heat on winning trades: how far winners went against you before they paid.
- What if my stop were tighter? Drag the slider. Any trade that went at least that far against you would have been stopped at that level; the rest are unchanged. Costs are not re-applied.
- Against vs for: a dot per trade, how far against you (across) and for you (up).
